ALB Filter Protect Pre-Filter – Stainless Steel

Protect your ALB Filter cartridge from sand, sediment, rust and other particles with the ALB Filter Protect Pre-Filter.

Designed specifically for ALB Filter Element stainless-steel housings, the Protect installs before your main filter cartridge and provides an additional layer of sediment protection. Its replaceable 40-micron PP filter pad captures larger particles before they reach your primary filtration cartridge, helping extend cartridge life and maintain water flow.

Ideal for campervans, RVs, overland vehicles, boats and other mobile water systems, especially when filling from water sources where sediment or debris may be present.

Important Compatibility Information

This version is for ALB Filter Element stainless-steel housings only.

The stainless-steel ALB Filter housing can be identified by its black ALB Filter logo and two external threads on the filter body.

The Protect module is also available for ALB Filter aluminium housings, but the two versions use different thread configurations and are not interchangeable.

How It Works

The Protect module is installed as the first stage in your water filtration system, before your main filter cartridge.

Water first passes through the 40-micron filter pad, where larger particles such as sand, rust and sediment are captured. This reduces the amount of debris reaching your primary ALB Filter cartridge.

Depending on the quality of your water source, the filter pad may accumulate visible sediment. The pad can be brushed clean to remove larger debris. If water flow remains restricted after cleaning, the filter pad should be replaced.

Installation

Installation is quick and requires no special tools:

1. Remove the top lid from your ALB Filter Element housing.
2. Install the Protect module between the housing and lid.
3. Position the filter pad between the Protect module and sealing ring.
4. Reassemble the housing.
5. Install the filter into your water system with the Protect module first in the direction of water flow.
